What accreditations do you have?

IDA tutors are all professional designers, with long years of experience, who have gained a diploma in a Higher Education in Design and/or Architecture.

Our tutors are the heart of IDA and you will only experience a professional and friendly approach from our dedicated staff. IDA tutors are not only experienced and qualified interior designers, they have been carefully chosen from many tutor candidates, because of the incredible creativity and passion for design they all have.

Our courses are all checked and accredited by The CPD Group in the UK.

What support will I receive?

As an enrolled IDA student you will be assigned your own personal tutor and will have direct access to them via email or request face to face Zoom meeting where you can ask all the questions you have. You will also be part of the Facebook group to share your work and progress with your peers and tutor.

The ‘My IDA’ student portal is where you will access all the modules, exercises and also be able to contact your tutor directly.

What are the benefits of home study?

Online learning is truly changing the world!  Recently, home-studying is becoming the preferred choice of study by a multitude of students all over the world. It is a great way for our students to work at a time and pace to suit them and have the ability to plan and schedule their own time. Some other of the benefits of home study:

  • Comfort of learning from home
  • Ability to work while you study
  • Reduced education costs
  • More opportunities for teacher- student interaction (one to one)
  • Study at your own pace
  • Expand your professional network
  • Greater ability to concentrate
  • Reduced academic pressure
  • Study according to your learning style
  • Build self discipline

Which course is right for me?

We have carefully set three different courses that we hope capture the essence of all interior design.  Each course allows you to follow two paths:  A home-study only path and a combined home-study and in studio path (for UK students only) offering a unique and immersive learning experience for you in the heart of the New Forest Hampshire. You can find the full description for each content on our courses page.

If however you still have questions or would like to request a call back, please get in touch and one of our tutors will get back to you.

English is not my first language

The Interior Design Academy was designed with you in mind!  We want to create a fully inclusive learning environment that helps you break the entry barriers by matching you with a tutor that speaks your language, whilst allowing you to access all course materials in both English and your language of choice.

Our courses are available in English, Polish, Serbian, Hungarian, Romanian, Spanish, Greek, Italian and Africans… Isn’t that great?

What will the assignments be like?

All the assingments are practical and involve very exiting tasks to get your creative juices flowing, whilst allowing you to build relevant material to put together a professional portfolio.

You will be asked to design different rooms (using a 3d software and hand drafting skills as well); you will also learn how to create a mood board, how to measure a room properly, and so much more!

How long will the materials be available for?

All course materials will be available for 12 months from your enrolment date but you can also extend your access every 6 months for a £50, in case you find life gets in the way and you need some more time to complete your course.

How are the courses structured?

All three courses are broken down into modules. Each module provides you with all the reading material images and videos designed to maximise your learning of the topic.

At the end of each module there will be an assignment to complete and your tutor will explain what the set expectations for submission are. As soon as your tutor has accepted your exercises, you will be granted access to the next module.

What certification will I gain?

Once all your modules are completed and you submit your very last assignment, you will receive a CPD accredited diploma relevant to your course (e.g: ‘Certified Interior Designer’ or ‘Certified Home Staging Professional’ or ‘Certified KBB designer’).

Our school is a CPD accredited institution and our CPD registration number is: 779179. This certification is awarded by the prestigious CPD Group which is recognised all over the world.  To read more about the accreditation and what it entails, visit the About CPD Accreditation page.

Will I build a portfolio?

Here at IDA we recognise that a professional looking portfolio will open the doors of your new career.  It allows you to talk about the challenges of the project and how you approached them, whilst showing off your personal ‘design flair’.

After every module we will ask you to complete an exercise. Those exercises are fully practical, and you can save them and use them in your portfolio.  Your tutors will advise you on how to maximise your projects and get the best results out of your design.

Will my tutor review my work?

Of course. You will also have the opportunity to talk via video chat to your tutor regarding the lessons and the homeworks that you have completed. All our courses follow a linear progression, meaning you will not get the access for the new module until the previous homework hasn’t been completed up to a high standard, to ensure that you keep track of your progress.

What is the admission criteria?

Our courses are aimed to include students from all paths of live. The only real requirement is to have completed Secondary education and of course have a passion for Interior Design!
